Reinforcement Mesh

10 products

Steel reinforcement mesh is an extremely versatile product used extensively across the construction industry. Here at NextDaySteel, we supply high-quality steel mesh fabric, suitable for a multitude of applications. Manufactured to the highest possible standards, it is robust, durable, and reliable.

What is reinforcement mesh?

In basic terms, reinforcement mesh is a network of thin steel rods, laid perpendicular to one another in a lattice formation. It is set in concrete to give greater tensile strength to the finished concrete product. The most common mesh types are A142, A193, A252, A393. You also have B785, B1131, B503, B385 and B283.

Benefits of steel fabric reinforcement

The main reason to use steel mesh for concrete construction is that it improves the tensile strength of whatever you’re creating. Concrete is an extremely strong building material when it comes to compression forces – hence why we use it so much for foundations. However, concrete loses out when it comes to tension forces. A beam made of concrete with no reinforcement in it would be at serious risk of cracking in the middle if any more than the lightest load were placed upon it. Reinforcement mesh is particularly useful for increasing concrete’s structural rigidity. It is relatively lightweight, dispersing the weight of the concrete and any additional load along its extensive framework of metal rods. Additionally, when it comes to changes in temperature, reinforcement mesh expands and contracts at roughly the same rate as its concrete housing, making it a safe and effective reinforcing material.

A range of reinforcement mesh options

Different jobs require different specifications of reinforcement mesh. We provide an extensive range of thicknesses from 6mm to 12mm, with several variations of cross bars. There should be something to suit every concrete construction project.

High Quality Reinforcement Mesh.

All our concrete reinforcing steel mesh is manufactured in compliance with BS4449 (2005) regulations, as set by the British Standards Institution. These regulations cover steel for the reinforcement of concrete, and are your assurance of a safe and reliable product.
