What is A142 mesh used for? A142 is the lightest and most widely used square reinforcing fabric in the BS 4483 range, and the default choice for everyday domestic concrete. Built from 6mm Grade B500 wires welded at 200mm centres in both directions, it provides equal, modest reinforcement each way: ideal for controlling cracking and adding strength to ground-bearing slabs that are not carrying heavy structural loads.
